25-cent books donated by World Bank staff will be "circulated in England until they are worn to shreds."
To alleviate the reading material shortage in England, Bank staff member Ralph Forster initiates a collection of 25-cent paperback books from Bank staff to be "circulated in England until they are worn to shreds" (International Bank Notes, Vol. 1, No. 14).
A notice regarding the Books for Britain project is on page 1.
As described on pages 59 to 62, the Book Project, created in 1982 by the WIVES, the World Bank's family volunteer organization, continued the tradition of literary donations.
