Indonesia signs the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) Articles of Agreement, becoming the 56th member of the World Bank. The World Bank had long been interested in investing in Indonesia, and discussions concerning potential projects, technical assistance, and mission visits will begin almost immediately following the signing.
