Detail Description

Representatives from 21 countries meet to sign the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development's Articles of Agreement. Of these 21 countries, eleven are European: Belgium, Czechoslovakia, France, Greece, Iceland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, United Kingdom, and Yugoslavia. The Articles will become effective and the World Bank, as it would soon be more commonly known, will be created on December 31 after signatures from the necessary number of countries are collected.
