World Bank Group Timeline
Norway - The Economy at the End of 1953 released
The report, written by the World Bank's Department of Operations for Europe, Africa and Australasia, considers the economy of Norway during the post-war period of 1946-1952 and concludes by investigating the country's current balance of payments and creditworthiness. The paper points out that Norway has many economic prospects, primarily in the development of power and in the expansion of its merchant fleet program. The Bank determines that a loan to Norway will help develop production capabilities and promote the flow of goods and services.
