A. W. Clausen becomes World Bank Group President

A. W. Clausen left his position as CEO of BankAmerica to become the sixth president of the World Bank Group. During his five years as Bank president, Clausen oversees the expansion of structural adjustment lending as well as investment in agricultural and rural development. He will also emphasize the need for additional assistance to sub-Saharan Africa.
