President Wolfensohn welcomes Jubilee 2000 debt relief rally
The Jubilee 2000 campaign draws attention to the need for debt relief among poor countries and creates links between high-level World Bank Group and country officials and grassroots social activists. During the occasion, Bank President Wolfensohn says, "I am personally very grateful for the enormous contribution Jubilee 2000 has made to debt relief...While we do not agree with every aspect of how to address this challenge, we salute the coalition for helping to bring this critical issue to the world’s attention."
