World Bank Group Timeline

May 19, 1971

Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) convenes

Co-sponsored by the World Bank Group, the Food and Agriculture Organization, and the United Nations Development Programme, CGIAR serves as an informal association of more than 40 public and private donors supporting a network of international agricultural research centers. The Bank Group provides CGIAR with funding and offices as well as a rotating vice president to serve as CGIAR chairman.
