World Bank and International Monetary Fund Boards of Governors hold inaugural meeting

At this inaugural meeting in Savannah, Georgia, the Governors adopt bylaws, elect executive directors, and choose Washington, D.C., as the site for the two new institutions.  The role and involvement of executive directors is also discussed but, while a bylaw is adopted, the issue will be determined over the months and years to come. The meeting concludes on March 18, 1946.
